European powers will formally present to the Security Council Thursday an amended UN draft resolution seeking new sanctions against Iran, said French ambassador Jean-Maurice Ripert.
"We will formally introduce this afternoon the draft resolution in the Security Council in the name of its three co-sponsors, France, Britain and Germany," Ripert told reporters.
"The goal is to begin formal negotiations" in order to get the council to adopt the resolution "as soon as possible, ideally next week," he said.

As we can see the US isn't the only country concerned with keeping Irans power under control. The French seem to be very worried about Irans Nuclear Program.
